Two
teenagers in Verona, Italy must decide between submission to the will
of family and sacrifice for “the course of true love.”
Shakespeare’s
romantic tragedy explores the timeless and inescapable draw of
forbidden
love in this new adaptation directed by Artistic Director Emily Mattina
and David
Richman (author and University of New Hampshire Theater Professor).
This classic production of
Shakespeare's
timeless tale of love, action and family feud is brought to life by
five
professional actors using the Bard's original language. The
unique
sound design enhances our innovative, visceral, one-hour
adaptation.
The pre-show session introduces the audience to the plot, with a
post-show
talk-back designed to establish dialogue with the audience about the
universal
issues and themes in the play.
The interactive pre-show
session
and the talk back address important issues in the production and
encourage
the relationship between the actors and the audience.
A study guide with
curriculum
based pre- and post-show activities accompanies this production.
