Shakesperience’s
new signature series of in-class Folklore workshops is designed to
educate students on Fables, Folktales and Myths from various
cultures. Two actors demonstrate a honed teaching style to bring
modern adaptations of these classic tales. They lead the class in
scenes featuring student performers.
This small group access to the Shakesperience Teaching
Approach, and
the balance of workshop and performance, allow for the highest levels
of inclusiveness. This unique format permits the celebration of the
spoken language and empowers students with confidence and public
speaking skills.
The cost of the program brings our artists to your school for five, 45
minute workshops, all incorporated into the school's schedule. Each
session is presented with substantial ties to language arts and theatre
learning standards.
Testimonial
"The Folklore Workshop was enriching
and engaging to all students. Students truly enjoyed becoming a part of
the production, as well as seeing fables, folktales and legends come to
life. The performers brought a healthy blend of humor and artistic
expression that really created a nice dramatic effect. [They] really
served as great role models, conveying the idea that literature can be
fun!"
