Attend Our Extracurricular Shows

Our scheduled public programs include:

2015 Rising Stars Summer Theatre Experience

Session I: July 20 - 24, 9am - 3pm
Session II: July 27 - July 31, 9am - 3pm

Rising Stars students aged 7 to 17 are instructed by our professional resident artists in the Shakesperience Approach.  This method embodies the philosophy of the company and leads to a strong, disciplined ensemble, grounded in language and positive interaction and creates art and educational activities of the highest quality. Students learn to develop action and character through text within a strong, socially responsive ensemble that takes ownership of the work.  Students show significant long-term behaviours, including literacy, public speaking, individual and group work ethic, and positive outlook, attitude and self-expression.  The program concludes with a performance for parents, friends, and the public.

Optical Delusions Talk Tour

Shoreline Arts Alliance, in collaboration with Shakesperience, is presenting "Optical Delusions," an insider's look at the The Comedy of Errors, the mainstage production for this summer's Shakespeare on the Shoreline.

To engage the audience in the underlying themes found in The Comedy of Errors and to better understand the family-friendly interpretation of this great Shakespearean comedy, join director Emily Mattina and members of the company as they tour the region to speak about their imaginative, provocative, and free production of The Comedy of Errors.  Ms. Mattina was recently named the 2015 Elizabeth L. Mahaffey Arts Administration Fellow by the state's DECD Office of the Arts.

Shakespeare on the Shoreline: The Comedy of Errors

Shakespeare on the Shoreline is the most popular and well-recognized FREE summer cultural event of the Shoreline community and according to the Wall Street Journal "draws crowds from all over the area with its engaging, entertaining, and educational performances."

Twin boys are separated from their father for 25 years.  Each has a servant, who is twin a twin to the other servant of the same name.  They all converge on the same town, where their father has also arrived, condemned to death and determined to find his long-lost family before the end.  It's a common situation.  Emily Mattina directs this wild confusion to its neat and happy conclusion.

FREE Pre & Post Show Talk Backs with Artistic Director and Members of the Cast on Wednesday, August 5; Friday, August 7; Saturday, August 8. Pre-Show begins at 6:30pm. Post-Show immediately follows the final curtain.

These daytime Children & Family Shows are the command performances of the Mark Twain classic has been adapted by Jacob Green especially for Shakesperience Productions. Our talented artists guide the audience on a journey of adventure and action, while prompting them to consider the folly of judging people by their appearances. A dynamic sound design, costumes, scenery and props round out this theatrical treat.

We just can't stop giving voice to this amazing true story!  In 1926 radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches all the rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease.  Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she battles the U.S. Radium Corporation and her own family and friends, who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire.
